Lonely holidays? We can help you get through...
My name is Jennifer Shiver. I have been an educator for 28 years. In 2008 I received a masters degree in psychology and counseling. My passion is through counseling, mentoring or coaching to use my gifts, training and ability to move people in the direction of taking the next confident, bold steps toward a future free of emotional baggage and turmoil.
I am dedicated to my full time job as a school counselor for at risk students, my private practice and my volunteer hours as a bench counselor, where I provide free counseling to anyone interested around the city of Tampa.
I enjoy the challenge of connecting with those who have been effected by poverty, homelessness and trauma.
I have served on the Diversity Advisory Board for Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, Representing people with disabilities. While serving I advocated for the first sensory friendly hurricane shelters in Hillsborough county. As an adult with Aspergers, I have been asked to speak to nurses and college students regarding advocacy for people on the autism spectrum.
I currently serving on the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners Anti Bullying Advisory Board. Serving on a subcommittee dedicated to speaking at local community events on the subject of and data related to bullying.
I am a crisis trained counselor, a trauma informed trained counselor, a behavior specialist, and a violence prevention counselor.
My husband and I founded Truth & Grace ministries in 2018 to provide support and encouragement for friends and families of the faith based community who are dealing with the heartbreak and frustrations of prodigals.
Recently I am excited to have co-founded the EPIC memorial 5k and to begin working on the EPIC MEMORIAL 5k scholarship, in memory of Joshua Miller and Adam Robertson, that will provide financial common ground for high school students effected by both suicide and addiction.
